Wak Sempuh Fishing Jetty Sungai Pelek, Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia

Fishing  from a fishing pier or jetty can be quite fun. This is even more exciting when it is a saltwater fishing pier or jetty. One of the ways to do fishing in Malaysia is through fishing from the many fishing jetties piers here. Sungai Pelek which is a coastal town just after Sepang is a very suitable spot to do slatwater fishing. This place has got some exciting fishing jetties. If you are lucky you might be able to land a River Monster here from one of its fishing jetties.

The Wak Sempuh fishing jetty is situated right next to the Sirip Biru fishing boat charter jetty which we covered earlier this month. This fishing jetty is more accessible and seems to be more pleasant.

At this point of time, the jetty seemed to be under expansion. However it was still open for business. The fee to fish for one rod was at RM 4. The place is quite stable and relatively shaded for anglers.

Bait that is most suitable to be used here is apparently bait that is caught from the river itself. Live bait that have been fed in the shops with animal feed apparently reek to the local fishes here and thus puts off the fishes from taking them. Despite being alive.

The fish that are targeted here are Barramundi, Groupers, Tarpon, Jacks and many other fish that can be found in the estuary. Worth visiting with a long casting rod. Lures work here too. However one would need to work more harder when using them. Results may vary depending on tide.

If you are a fan of taking it easy while fishing. This place is for you. Its cheap and there's really nothing much to expect except relaxation. Do visit this beautiful part of Malaysia.
