Folk of Sungai Besi and Cheras have got a fresh new fishing tackle shop to go to. Something we really like about this new changing image, signifies that there might be some sort of commercial recognition for the sport of fishing here in Malaysia itself.

FM tackle is very new and it is situated in the shopping district of the upcoming trendy Lakefields district in Sungai Besi.  F0r those of you who wonder where this is its in the new development before the toll that leads to mines and KL – Seremban highway. First impressions was that there’s a fair amount of parking available and its quite snugly located between a pet store and an aquarium.

This is an independent tackle shop that trades both premium and standard grade fishing tackle supplies. Rods, reels, line and many more for all kinds of budgets are available here. There is material for the novice to the intermediate angler.

A small shop with a lot to prove we like to see hardworking shops like these. All the staff here are pleasant and know what they are doing. If you have queries on gear and need recommendations worth bouncing some ideas of the folks here.

FM tackle has a fair amount of tackle and a good selection of reels. There is a cabinet that stretches the length of the shop filled with reels. The brands you will see here are your Abu Garcia, Omoto, Shimano, Daiwa and many more. We had the good fortune to spend some time with its owner who shared his aspirations for the shop.

The mild mannered jovial chap has got very good aspirations to expand the business and looking to work harder to see that there are more efforts be made in bringing the whole fishing tackle business scene out here in Malaysia. He feels that this is a mainstream business that needs more exposure and has room for a lot more players.

One of his ideals would be to have a greater online presence. Which is essential in this day of  age as this media is often the stepping stone for the more commercial media. Having a good online presence also leads to a more viable source of income and establishment.

The shop is a very comfortable shop. If you notice on the lefthand side upon entry would be the showcase of the owner that shows his personal collection of reels. Perhaps his private cache if you like. An avid angler himself he is such good company to talk too.

If you would like to see a shop with a vision please do visit. Although new and geared to some certain extent, one can walk away happy knowing that there is a shop with a vision like this available in Malaysia.

Anyone can wear their colours proudly visiting this shop. Either it be the Swedes or Japanese.

Welcome to Malaysia. The fishing here is great and the fish are awesome.
